"Guilsfield is a passionate and hard-working club, with some great people at the heart of it. I’ve been able to catch a few games this season, and there’s some great potential in the squad.
"They’ve been unfortunate in some clashes, so we are going to have to work twice as hard now to work our way back up the table.
"As always, I am very much looking forward to this new challenge, starting Saturday at home to Llay Welfare."
The Clos Mytton club confirmed the arrival of the ex-Aberystwyth Town, Bangor City, Caernarfon Town, Carmarthen Town, Barry Town and Penrhyncoch forward who started his career with Tranmere Rovers.
A statement read: "We are pleased to announce that Gavin Allen has been appointed manager of Guilsfield Football Club.
"We would like to place on record our thanks to Matt Burton for the work he has carried out as manager since July. Matt has helped us in the negotiating process of appointing Gavin as manager.
"The committee would like to welcome Gavin to the club and we look forward to working together."
