NEWTOWN continued their JD Cymru Premier struggles with a 2-1 defeat at nine man Cardiff Met on Friday night.
The Robins were once again left in the doldrums just a week after their Welsh Cup humiliation at the hands of Llanuwchllyn.
A George Hughes own goal gave the home side an early lead only for Dominic Smith to soon restore parity for the Robins.
Jack Veale was sent off in the 17th minute for a dangerous lunge on Josh Lock but Newtown were unable to take advantage with Zeli Ismail coming closest when his free-kick struck the woodwork.

The Archers led when Eliot Evans restored their lead at the start of the second-half.

Geoff Kellaway struck a late leveller as Penrhyncoch claimed a point in a 1-1 draw at Gresford Athletic with the Broughton side forging ahead through Simon Smith's 50th minute striker.
