Hay-on-Wye Cricket Club players and officials are celebrating their first league title for 15 years.
Victory over Builth Wells IIs in the final game of the season saw them pip Almeley to the GB Liners Marches League Two title by five points.
After captain John Sly won the toss and put Builth into bat, Hay’s bowlers always looked on top as openers Mark Burgess (2/34) and Huw Griffiths (2/11) were then superbly followed by Gabe Moore (2/11) and Gus Price (4/8) to see Builth all out for 89 in the 33rd over.

Having had issues with chasing low scores earlier in the season and missing both Luke Bowen and Gareth Grant, it was the experienced duo of Tim Masters and Rhydian Evans-Bevan who opened for Hay.
Masters fell for seven, unlucky to play onto his stumps.
Dan Bowen joined Evans-Bevan in seeing Hay home at the end of the 26th over. Evans-Bevan finishing 44 not out, and Bowen 33 not out.
Not since the Division three title in 2009 have Hay finished at the top of a division with the club all but starting again from the fourth division in 2013.
Chairman Rhydian Evans-Bevan, club secretary Tim Davies and captain John Sly were all part of the 2009 team and thoroughly deserve to again be part of a winning Hay team 15 years later.
