A Powys cricketer will be plying his trade in Australia this winter.
Joe Monk has been unveiled as assistant coach at Woodend Cricket Club and the ex-Welshpool, Newtown and Oswestry player's arrival has been lauded by his hosts.
A club spokesman said: "We're delighted to announce the arrival of Joe Monk from Shropshire, England, to join us at Woodend Cricket Club this summer.
"Joe brings with him a wealth of talent and experience as a medium fast seam bowler, currently showcasing his skills at Oswestry Cricket Club in the Shropshire County Cricket League Premier Division.

"Joe's cricket journey includes impressive stints at Newtown Cricket Club, where he secured an outstanding 107 wickets at just 12, and Welshpool Cricket Club with 109 wickets at an average of 17.
"His prowess on the field is matched by his passion for coaching, holding qualifications that make him a valuable addition to both our senior and junior coaching structure.
"Joe will be joining us as an assistant coach to Josh Eastley, our new head coach, and we're thrilled to have him on board to mentor and inspire our players."
