NEWTOWN Rugby Club marked three decades since the launch of its junior section last week.
The Recreation Ground-based club welcomed its young stars to celebrate the past campaign and launch a new award in memory of junior section founder Paul Thurston.
Paul’s son and former player John presented an a new award marking contribution to the junior rugby.

In its inaugural year John presented Evan Mackeen with the award for his commitment to rugby and the team.
Another successful season for the under 16s team was celebrated with an awards evening with ladies section player and England U18s captain Sarah Parry presenting the U15 Player of the Year award to Liam Edwards and U15 Most Improved Player accolade to James Riordan.
The U16 Player's Player of the Year was Cai Van-Lill while captain Dan Lloyd was named Player of the Year and the U16 Most Improved Player of the Year trophy went home with Adam Williams.
The club also celebrated its women's section end of season awards.
Jenny Luke was named Player of the Season and Alanna Shuker was Most Improved Player and Elin Jones won the Try of the Season award.
