Adam Worton, a former Welsh Premier League footballer with Newtown, Caersws, Airbus and Aberystwyth, has switched to boxing at the age of 37.
Worton has spent the past few seasons with Llanidloes Town who were relegated from JD Cymru North at the end of last season.
Fighting for Strettonia Boxing Club in Shropshire, his debut fight at cruiserweight ended in a controversial points draw from the three ring side judges.

Despite appearing set for a debut win, the controversy surrounding Worton’s draw looks certain to ensure he continues his boxing journey.
Worton’s late switch to boxing from a successful footballing career in Welsh football’s premier league highlights his sporting athleticism and mental determination.
Worton has also played rugby for his home town club Knighton and is also an accomplished golfer being a member of the UK “hole in one” golf society.
