BUILTH Wells overcame the challenge of basement side Brynamman to remain on course for a top five finish in Admiral League One West Central on Saturday.
The Bulls endured a tough afternoon and had to come from behind before a late penalty try sealed a 12-8 victory and earned the plaudits of head coach Ben Duggan who has backed his side to maintain their strong form and seal a top five finish following a fine campaign.
The Bulls welcomed Brynamman to a wet and windy Groe on Saturday with Builth starting the brighter and after some strong forward work hooker Ryan Hughes crossed for an unconverted try.

The visitors struck back with a penalty and a classy try by the winger to leave the Bulls trailing 8-5 at the break.
The Bulls came out second-half, pressurising the Brynamman defence many times but the final pass kept going astray and the visiting half backs kicked Builth back into there own half.

The Builth score finally came when the a powerful maul was hauled down illegally and a penalty try was awarded
The last 10 minutes saw Brynamman throw everything at Builth defence which dig deep to see out the game 12-8 victors.

Head coach Ben Duggan said: “I am pleased to get the win against a very tough Brynamman side.
“It wasn’t pretty at times with the weather but we did what we had to do to get the win with standout performances from Ryan Hughes and Cerith Davies.”

Builth travel to Bridgend on Saturday with Duggan confident of a happy trip home with his charges travelling with confidence.
“We travel to Bridgend Athletic Saturday at the Brewery Field which will be another tough outing but the boys are up for the challenge
“We hope to include Iwan Coyle in the squad, the young back rower has been starring in some big games for Bath University in the BUCS League so his inclusion will give us a massive boost down there.”
