WELSHPOOL Town have hailed the return of defender Lucie Gwilt to Maesydre.
The defender arrives at the North Wales Women's League following five years with Aberystwyth Town in the Adran Genero Premier.
Coach Gwynfor Edwards was delighted with the signing and was confident the club had now turned the corner following fears they would be forced to resign due to a player shortage.
Gwilt joins ex-Park Avenue team-mate Naomi Evans in making the switch to Welshpool with both having previously worked with Edwards in the past with the club expected to further strengthen this month.
Evans said: “I joined Welshpool to get back into the game after having three or four years out.

"The start to this season has been tough, where we have faced good opposition, in particular cup fixtures where we have met teams in tier two.
"We have also struggled to field a side with a good number of subs frequently.
"However, after an appeal for new faces, we have managed to secure players who have played at premiership level, who no doubt will be invaluable going forwards.”
New signing Lucie Gwilt was delighted to be back at Maesydre.
She said: "It’s a great feeling to return back to the club where it all began for me.
"Having recently moved back to the area after living in Aberystwyth for almost 10 years, I’ve been commuting back and forth for Adran Premier football.
"I’ve had an unbelievable time with Aberystwyth Town - both on and off the pitch - but the time had come for me to leave."
Gwilt said working for Edwards again had helped make the decision an easy one.
"I knew Gwyn already as he had managed me at Aber several years ago and was actually the coach who recruited me to Aber in the first place so it was an easy decision to make to come back home.
"I’ve been keeping a close eye on the club this season and have seen some of the struggles they’ve been going through, so I’m hopeful to be able to contribute to the club’s future success moving forward."
