Penrhyncoch went top of the Ardal North East League table with a 4-1 win at home to previous leaders Radnor Valley.
The Roosters raced ahead with first-half goals from Geoff Kellaway, Elian Evans and Dion Phillips before the Goats hit back on the hour with a penalty from Joey Price.
However the home side sealed the spoils with Christy Gale firing a fourth before Valley were reduced to 10 men with Matt Croose dismissed.
Llanfair United celebrated a welcome 2-1 win at home to Rhos Aelwyd in a match which produced three red cards.

The Wrexham visitors led through Ian Hughes' strike at the interval before the hosts hit back with goals from Kyle Capner and William Davies.
Tom Smith and Evan Woodall saw red for Rhos with Toby Roberts also earning his marching orders in a flurry of late red cards at Mount Field.
Welshpool Town remain rooted to the foot of the table following a 5-0 defeat at home to Cefn Albion with Josh Astley and Jordan Williams netting twice and Kien Morris completing the scoring.

Bow Street celebrated a 5-4 penalty shoot-out win at Llandrindod Wells following a 2-2 draw in the second round of the Ardal North League Cup on Saturday.
The Spamen led with goals from Liam Hall and Robbie Nicholls only for the Magpies to twice hit back with replies from Iolo ap Dafydd and Garmon Nutting with the visitors holding their nerve in the resulting shoot-out.

Brecon Corries endured a day to forget with a 7-2 defeat at Ardal South East League leaders Trethomas Bluebirds.
Levi Rees starred with a hat-trick while Liam Fawcett struck twice and goals from James Young and Gareth Tedstone completed the home side's tally while Joel Evans and Luke Roughley replied for the Powys club.
Hay St Mary's struggles continued with a 3-0 defeat at fellow strugglers Abercarn United with goals from Leon Young, Jack Bainton and Cohen Graves completing the scoring.
