LLANRHAEADR manager Mike Barton has praised his side after sealing a place in the last 16 of the Dragon Designs Welsh Trophy.
The villagers held their nerve to see off Cardiff Bay Warriors on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the capital and will now face Holyhead Hotspur at Tanllan in the next round.
He said: “The first half was a one sided affair with us pressing them high up the pitch. We should of been up at half time but didn’t take chances.
“We missed chance after chance to finish game in the second-half and they were always dangerous on the break and got a late goal to take it to penalties.

“There was a great atmosphere created by the Warriors supporters. It is great to get into last 16 and hopefully a home draw now.”
Builth Wells will travel to either Menai Bridge Tigers or Seven Sisters Onllwyn in the next round after defeating Canton.
Joint-manager Dylan McPhee said: “It was a very good team performance against a good Canton side.
“The game was played on a pristine pitch with both sides playing good football but was also very physical game.
“Chances few and far between but felt we deserved the win with a rock solid performance and progress to the next round.
“The boys have been superb lately and are getting the results they deserve for their commitment.”
Penrhyncoch host Penrhiwceiber Rangers in the next round.
Manager Gari Lewis said: “I am pleased for the boys as we had five lads playing with injuries and three centre backs missing.
“We decided to play on the front foot and be positive and it paid off.”
Bow Street travel to Llanuwchllyn after an emphatic victory over Plough in the last round.
Manager Llyr Hughes said: “It was a good performance from start to finish. It is always nice to get some goals and keep a clean sheet sheet but ultimately it was all about getting into the hat for the next round.”
