LEE Jones was the hero with the only goal in the game as Montgomery Town battled to a 1-0 win at Barmouth United to seal a place in the third round of the Welsh Trophy today.
Gerwyn Williams maintained his bright form with two goals as Dolgellau AA prevailed 3-1 winners at Presteigne St Andrews with a Matthew Tilson own goal completing the scoring while the Saints replied through Ruben Lloyd.
Tywyn Bryncrug came out on top on penalties at Dyffryn Banw following a 3-3 draw.
Joe Soar fired the visitors ahead before Joe Evans levelled and Nick Williams restored the Cormorants' lead and an a James Turner own goal before the break.
Evans reduced the arrears with his second of the game after the interval before Turner netted at the right end with five minutes remaining to force penalties with
Tywyn prevailing 4-3 as Mark Edmondson struck the decisive spot kick.

Tregaron Turfs held out to celebrate a 2-1 win at home to Berriew with goals from Ryan Hurrell and Lee Morgan before the Rhiewiders set up a tense finale with a late penalty from Marc Jones.
Brecon Corries came out on top on penalties after a 3-3 draw at Ardal South East rivals Hay St Mary's.
Craig Evans fired the Corries ahead with Matty Tong levelling for the hosts before Paul Keddle and Joel Evans goals restored the visitors' advantage.
Keddle saw red for Brecon before Hay hit back with goals from Jack Cook and Jack Biggs but the visitors held their nerve to win 5-4 in the shoot out.
Radnor Valley also progressed 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Four Crosses who led through Tom Evans' 77th minute strike only for Matt Croose to level for the Goats.
Machynlleth sealed their third round ticket with a 3-1 penalty shoot out win over Waterloo Rovers on Friday night after Luke Vince-Holt's opener for the hosts was cancelled out by Tom Ellis for the Welshpool side.
