Newtown 2 Barry Town United 0
AARON Williams maintained his fine form with both goals as Newtown proved too strong for Barry Town United on Saturday.
The Robins have found their momentum with three successive top flight wins and continue to climb the table after a poor start to the campaign.
Newtown enjoyed a dream start when a long clearance from goalkeeper Andy Wycherley failed to be cleared by the Barry defence and Williams drilled home from the edge of the area inside the opening minute.
The goal set the tone for the remainder of the game and Shane Sutton came close to doubling Newtown's lead 10 minutes later when the visiting defence was once again found wanting from Matthew Jones' right wing cross.
Newtown had the majority of the ball and territory but struggled to carve any further clear openings.

Barry chances were sparse but Ollie Hulbert handed the hosts a fright just before the break when he raced past Sutton following a long ball from midfield only to drag his effort wide.
Kyle Patten lashed over the bar as Barry began the second-half brightly while Kayne McLaggon worked his first opening of the game after cutting inside from the left only to be denied by Wycherley.
Newtown weathered the storm and were soon back on top and with 15 minutes remaining a swift counter down the left wing saw Jones cross for Ryan Sears to head back into the danger area for Louis Robles to tee up Williams to fire home his second.
Newtown could have added a third only for Rob Evans to scuff his shot after breacking the Barry defence in the final stages with a relieved Mike Lewis gathering.
