The Montgomeryshire League is entering into a new era with the welcome introduction of five clubs who were members of the Mid Wales League (South).
Presteigne St Andrews Reserves, Rhayader Town Reserves, St Harmon, Felindre and Newcastle are also joined by newly formed Berriew Reserves and Kerry Reserves while Llanfair United’s second-string side will also be competing locally.
The 15 club league also includes Llangedwyn, Trefonen, Churchstoke, Llanfechain, Four Crosses Reserves, Waterloo Rovers Reserves and Abermule Reserves.
Unfortunately, Llanfyllin Town Reserves will not be running a side in 2023/24.

The league will be hoping to further strengthen over the next few seasons and will be looking to promote and develop a side from the Newtown area.
Unbelievably, there is no organised club below the Cymru Premier side from the town.
The league is up for grabs with the introduction of the new clubs this season and holders Llangedwyn will have a fight to keep their hands on the league championship.
Last season, the cup competition winners were evenly distributed with Newcastle taking the Joint MWLS/MAFL Cup, Llanfechain getting their hands on the Llansantffraid Village Cup, Trefonen completing the double in the Bernie Jones Memorial Trophy and Severn Trophies League Cup, Waterloo Reserves retained the Town Cup.
Therefore, a very open 2023/24 season is envisaged.
The league committee is delighted with the sponsors on board, with the continued support of JT Hughes, Llansantffraid Village FC, Severn Trophies Ltd together with a new sponsor for the re-introduced Consolation Cup which will be sponsored by D.T. Jones Wales Luxury Travel and Minibus Hire (www.dtjoneswales.co.uk).
The league begins on Friday, August 11th and many fixtures are lined up throughout August for local supporters to view matches.
