CHRIS Davies has stepped down as manager of JD Cymru North side Llanidloes Town.

The former Carno boss masterminded the club's survival in the second tier and led the Daffodils to three trophies in two years.

A club statement read: "We announce with a heavy heart that first team manager Chris Davies is stepping down from his role.

"Due to upcoming medical operations, Chris felt it would be best to step away now rather than cause unrest later in the season.

OTHER NEWS:

"This will give the club a chance to get someone in so we can start the season in a stable environment in what will be another tough season at tier two."

The club has appointed Adam Worton and Dave Jarman to lead the club in the interim while the search for a B licensed coach gets underway.

The statement continued: "We are obviously very sorry to see Chris step down but hope he will remain within the club in some capacity.

County Times:

"We thank Chris for his relentless hard work over the last two years, he has brought in fresh ideas, up to date analysis and put his own mark in the history of this club.

"Maintaining tier two status is an achievement in itself and three trophies in his two seasons in charge is an exceptional return.

"We wish Chris all the best with his operations and hope he will remain as active as possible around the club."
