CAERSWS Football Club will be playing in the second tier of Welsh football again next season.

The Ardal North East League champions failed their initial licensing application but successfully appealed along with seven other clubs which had failed at the first attempt.

The independent Club Licensing Appeals Body met on Thursday to consider the appeals as a result of the First Instance Body decisions for participation in the JD Cymru North & South.

Abergavenny Town, Ynyshir Albions, Gresford Athletic, Caerau Ely and Undy AFC from south Wales along with Cefn Albion and Flint Mountain from north Wales joined the Bluebirds in overturning the initial rejection.

Bangor 1876, Brickfield Rangers, Denbigh Town and Y Rhyl 1879 passed at the first attempt.

Champions Caersws and north western champions Denbigh Town are assured a place in the second tier next season while Bangor 1876 will face Cefn Albion for the third promotion spot in this month's play-off.

Due to two northern clubs being relegated from the JD Cymru Premier this season it is not yet known whether JD Cymru North will continue to run with 17 clubs like this season or whether the Football Association of Wales (FAW) will switch the most southern club to JD Cymru South.
