The Football Association of Wales has welcomed the news that outdoor activity for up to 30 adults can now restart from April 26.
The news follows a Welsh Government decision to bring the date forward a week having previously set May 3 as the opening date.
This means that clubs can seek permission to play friendly matches within the 30 person limit as and from April 26
An FAW statement reads: "As a result, the FAW is reviewing its protocols and shall communicate them directly to area associations, leagues and clubs week commencing April 12 in preparation for the easing of restrictions."
While the 30 person limit still represents major obstacles for clubs the announcement still represents a ray of light and the first good news for Welsh football clubs for more than a year.
