GWYNFOR Edwards has taken the reins of Cardiganshire League side Newcastle Emlyn,
The highly rated coach succeeds Owain Thomas at Parc Emlyn with the aim of guiding the club back into the ranks of senior football.
Edwards expressed his thanks to MMP-NL Mid Wales League Two side who he served as coach following a short spell at the helm of MMP-NL Mid Wales League One side Carno last seasin.
The Llanelli based manager helped the Maglonians to end second in the curtailed league.
Edwards said: “Machynlleth have been brilliant, and hopefully their promotion to division is the reward they deserve. They’ve so many wonderful footballers!
"Working with Luke Vince-Holt was great, we had a great balance, he’s a natural “man-manager.”
However the opportunity to take over at Emlyn proved too good to turn down with Edwards confident the club would be competing in higher league football in future years.
"The club has everything in place to walk back into the higher leagues, and that’s exactly what I intend to do, with a base of tremendous local talent," added Edwards.
