Jack Grealish is set to complete a £100m transfer to Premier League champions Manchester City in the next 24 hours.
The deal would see the Aston Villa captain become the most expensive player in English football’s history following Paul Pogba’s £89m move to Manchester United in 2016.
According to reports, Grealish has arrived in Manchester to finalise terms with the two clubs in agreement over the deal.
The England international has been repeatedly linked to a move away from Villa Park all summer despite having four years remaining on his contract.
Villa bosses were reluctant to sell their star player and were even prepared to offer the 25-year-old fresh terms to keep him at his boyhood club.
According to reports, Grealish was offered a contract in the region of £200,000 per week but the he now looks set to join the Manchester club.
Grealish has emerged as one of the hottest properties in the English game due to his talismanic performances for Villa. He scored six goals in the Premier League last season and also provided 10 assists.
He then made four appearances for England during their run to the final of Euro 2020 before a penalty shootout defeat to Italy.
