A CROP of players from a Powys rugby club have earned places in RGC Women U18s teams for the Regional Age Grade competition.
RGC Du and Piws teams will take on the South Wales regions this season.
Izzy Jones, Menna Jones, Ffion Morgan, Nerys Bufton, Lucy Powell, Poppy Bloor and Ffion Jones make up Newtown’s magnificent seven to make the regional squad.

She said: “As a group we’re excited to get the RAG games started on Sunday, with two squads this year, there’s a lot of opportunity for players to really show what they can do which has been evident since we came together in November.

“We’ve got players who were involved last year, who will be able to bring that experience to both squads, with the new players showing some exciting stuff which we can’t wait to see.
“It’s a fresh coaching group as well, with additions and involvement from last year, which has given a new outlook on the programme. With two squads the challenge will be to ensure the players get the best opportunities.”
Daffyd Williams will be lead coach of RGC Du with Iolo Jones and Ollie Coles in support.
Lucy Brown is lead coach for RGC Piws as well as programme lead, with Ethan Fackerll, Gareth Parry and Pip Lantos in support with Harri Ford kicking specialist for both squads
