NEWTOWN will travel to Aberystwyth Town in the third round of the JD Welsh Cup.

The tie of the round will take place on the weekend of November 11/12 at Park Avenue when the latest edition of one of mid Wales football’s most enduring rivalries will take place.

Newtown Football Club chairman Howard Ellis said: “Everyone at the club is really looking forward to this cup tie with Aberystwyth Town.

“Being one of our closest rivals it’s a fixture the club always look forward to in the JD Cymru Premier and this being a Welsh Cup tie is something special especially for the two sets of supporters.”

Mr Ellis hoped the tie would draw a bumper gate as the tie of the round.

“The tie should attract a large crowd,” said Mr Ellis.
