Wales were left devastated as Switzerland scored in the final minute of extra-time to book their place in the World Cup Finals next summer and break Welsh hearts on Tuesday night.
Newtown raised Manchester United star Carrie Jones was joined in the starting line up by Liverpool’s Ceri Holland who qualifies for Wales through her Llanrhaeadr mother.
Meanwhile Sheffield United’s Maria Francis-Jones from Llanidloes was on the bench.
Despite leading through Rhiannon Roberts’ 20th minute goal the home side hit back through Ramona Bachmann before Fabienne Humm netted an extra-time winner.

Manager Gemma Grainger said: “It is incredibly tough to take. We know the margins at this level are fine and that has been shown tonight.
“I am incredibly proud of this group. I am proud we competed in this game and we intend to keep doing that.”
