THE A489 Newtown to Kerry road is back open after it was closed late on Saturday night (June 19).
Police announced the road was closed due to an incident just after 11.30pm. The road was closed in both directions and emergency services were on the scene. It was back open just after 1.30am on Sunday.
Dyfed Powys Police originally tweeted: “Road Closed. A489 just outside Newtown at roundabout going towards Kerry on the brow of the hill is shut both ways and emergency services are at the scene. Please find an alternative route. Update to follow.”
Two hours later they provided an update, saying: “The A489 from Newtown to Kerry is now open. Thank you for your patience while we dealt with this incident.”
