COBRA Rugby Club enjoyed the perfect Christmas present as its young stars stormed to glory and lift the RGC Youth Plate last weekend.
The Meifod side lifted the silverware after a thrilling 24-18 win over Rhyl in Colwyn Bay.
Barry Jones, one of the youth team coaches said: "We were pleased to have the opportunity to play Rhyl in the final of the plate competition on Sunday and delighted to come away with the victory.
"We had played Rhyl earlier this season in the league and had been beaten narrowly by them on that occasion so we knew we were in for a good game and we were not disappointed.

"Many thanks to Rhyl who put up a strong team and played well, but the COBRA team were determined to win and put up a splendid hard fought battle to take a convincing win.
"Thanks to Rygbi Gogledd Cymru for hosting the final and providing an opportunity for all the boys to play at Eirias Park."
The result further underlines the Meifod club's pedigree with the senior team the highest placed Montgomeryshire club in the Welsh pyramid and its women's team competing in the national league.
The under 18s' success highlights the next generation of talent coming through at Cae Cobra.
Jones added: "I am incredibly proud of the COBRA youth team which largely comprises of boys in their first season in the youth age group, and who I - and my fellow coaches - have had the pleasure to coach since they first joined the club many years ago as minis and juniors.
"Thanks too to all the parents and supporters who travelled to Colwyn Bay and who have supported these boys for very many years."
