A community-supported agriculture project has marked a fruitful year of activities with the help of two grants.
Ash & Elm Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), based in Llanidloes, received a total of £2,800 from Social Farms and Gardens via the Tyfu Powys project.
This included £1,300 from the Eat Well fund and £1,500 from the People and Planet Fund.
These funds supported a range of events focused on sustainability, healthy eating, and environmental care, including a Bio Blitz, local food feast, mushroom workshop, and an apple pressing day.
More than 85 species of moths were recorded during the Bio Blitz.
Ash & Elm has now invited the community to an end-of-year celebration on December 12 at The Stag, Llanidloes, at 4pm.
The event will showcase the year's activities, launch a seasonal recipe collection, and serve a shared meal.
The CSA scheme, part of a diverse agro-ecological growing site in the Upper Severn Valley, continues to thrive.
It offers subscription customers weekly vegetable bags and organic fruit boxes, all grown using environmentally-friendly methods.
The Tyfu Powys project supports community growing groups in Powys to learn about seasonable food consumption and planet-friendly growing.
The initiative encourages these groups to become more welcoming to new visitors and volunteers.
