CREWS from five separate Powys fire stations helped battle a blaze in Hay-on-Wye last week.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MWWFRS) said that no-one was injured in the fire, which occurred at a two-storey home on Hay’s Bridge Street at 6.27pm on Thursday, November 28.
Crews from Hay, Talgarth, Brecon, Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells attended the scene of the fire.
“Crews responded to a fire within a two-storey domestic property, measuring approximately 15 metres by 10 metres,” said a MWWFRS spokesperson.
“The entire roof space of the property was involved in the fire, [with] crews using four breathing apparatus sets, two hose reel jets, two thermal imaging cameras, four main branches, one light portable pump, lighting, one triple-extension ladder and small gear to extinguish the fire.
“Thankfully, no occupants were inside the property at the time of the fire. Crews left the scene at 10.35pm.”
