A MEMORIAL service is to be organised for a former Llandrindod Wells resident who died last month.
Patsy Godfrey, who was 91, was a member of both Llandrindod Wells U3A and Trinity Handbell Ringers at the town’s Holy Trinity Church.
Patsy moved to the spa town in 2004 and lived here until moving to the Bath area shortly before the pandemic. Patsy, a former teacher, died on Thursday, November 14.
Her daughter, Mary Strong, says the family is currently planning a memorial service.

“Mum was 91 and had moved from Llandrindod Wells to Bath to live in a retirement village,” said Mary.
“This was a bit of a surprise, as I was showing her around houses [and] I was looking to buy around the corner from her in Llandrindod, but she was keen to move nearer my younger brother in Bath.
“Mum was a principal lecturer at Darlington F E College until her retirement to look after my father and my grandmother.
“Mum was brought up in Letterston, between Haverfordwest and Fishguard, and was a first language Welsh speaker. She met my dad as a teacher in Fishguard High School. They then moved to North Yorkshire.
“She moved to Llandrindod Wells after dad died, I think in 2004. She lived there until she decided to move to a retirement village in Bath just before Covid.
“In Llandrindod, she became a keen handbell ringer with the Trinity Handbell Ringers. She also played a prominent role in the U3A.
“She passed away peacefully at Brunel House in Bath. The staff loved her and she was a teacher to the last, giving the staff heaps of praise.”
