A sheepdog breeder and handler has seen his dogs sell for more than £24,000 at an auction.
Kevin Evans, from Llwynfedwen, Brecon, had three dogs sell for a combined total of £24,100 at CCM Skipton’s winter timed online working sheepdog sale.
His top-performing dog, a fully-trained 17-month-old brown, white and tan bitch named Tilly, was sold for £14,800.
Mr Evans has five ISDS International Supreme Championships to his name.
Tilly, the daughter of Mr Evans' Swedish-bred stud dog Middery Frank, was the only dog to sell for more than £10,000 at the fixture.
The buyer was Kenny Donald, a retired farmer from Dalrymple, East Ayrshire, who keeps 100 sheep as a hobby.
Mr Donald plans to prepare Tilly for open trials next summer.
Mr Evans' second fully-trained dog, Storybrooke Guy, fetched £7,000.
The tri-coloured Scottish-bred dog will now head to Germany after being bought by Lara Sander, a small-scale farmer in Bergheim.
Ms Sander said: "I lost one of my best main farm and promising young nursery and open class trial dogs because of cancer, so I bought Guy to fill this hole.
"I am excited to work with him and hope it will be such a pleasure and give happiness like it is with Kemi Joy."
Mr Evans also sold a six-month-old red and white bitch named Talley Roxy for £2,300.
The dog was bought by Mrs Meryl Evans, who farms near Corwen.
The sale also saw other dogs with Mr Evans' breeding make a significant impact.
One of the dogs, Pentre Bet, sold for £8,500.
The black and white bitch, bred by Mr Evans' Tanhill Glen, has amassed 120 National points and was runner-up in the BBC’s One Man and His Dog in 2023.
She was bought by Jock Sutherland, of Sangomore, Durness, in the North-West Highlands, and will be used as both a work and trial dog.
Another dog, Netherbeck Floss, sold for £5,000.
The black and white bitch is the last remaining sister in a litter sired by Jedbergh handler Frank Hickson’s Chase.
The sale was well-attended, with numerous buyers and sellers from across the UK and beyond.
CCM’s general manager and auctioneer, Jeremy Eaton, noted: "The office was busy all week with new clients registering to bid at the sale and returning clients checking account details to ensure that they were equipped for sale night."
The event catered to a wide range of budgets, with fully-trained dogs available from £1,300, part-trained dogs from £150, and unbroken pups from £200.
The 52 dogs at the auction achieved an 80 per cent clearance rate.
The average sale prices were £3,822 for registered, fully-trained dogs, £5,315 for registered, fully-trained bitches, £2,200 for part-trained registered dogs, and £1,650 for unbroken and pups.
The sale demonstrated the flexibility of the online format in reaching national and international buyers.
A part-trained two-year-old tri-coloured bitch from Shropshire was sold for £1,400 to a buyer in British Columbia, Canada.
Mr Evans' success at the sale is a testament to his breeding programme, with dogs from his lines consistently fetching high prices.
His dogs are known for their strong work ethic and ability to perform well in trials, making them a popular choice for buyers at the sale.
