Powys electrical supplies business Links, which employs more than 60 staff, has been bought for an undisclosed sum.
The business, which has 11 branches including in Newtown, Welshpool and Builth Wells, has been acquired by RDCP Electrical in a move that’s been described as a "significant milestone".
Links Electrical director Darren Lawton, who helped set up the business in Newtown alongside Graeme Morgan and David Poyner in 2000, said the partnership will help embrace new opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

RDCP Electrical said operations will remain business as usual for all customers and suppliers.
The acquisition turns RDCP Electrical, which already consists of Worcester Electrical Distributors Ltd and WED-Online, into a £40m turnover business with 17 branches making it one of the largest operators of wholesale electrical bulk in the UK.
Links Electrical, which has its headquarters on the St Giles Business Park in Newtown, says it has grown "significantly" by offering electrical products from world-leading brands, but today the business has a big focus on the renewable energy sector to support customers with rising energy costs.

“By bringing in additional products we can provide even greater choice for our customers, helping them to reduce further their energy costs and improve efficiency.”
