A WOMAN has elected to have her trial held at the crown court after she denied causing serious injury to a man while driving her car in Powys.
Victoria Bloomfield, 33, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of careless driving at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 26.
Bloomfield is accused of causing serious injury to Paul Mountain on the A470 near Rhayader on August 7, 2022.
Bloomfield, of Glamis Drive, Hornchurch, was driving a Nissan Qashqai on the day in question. Magistrates said they accepted jurisdiction of the case but Bloomfield told them she wanted her trial held in front of a jury at the higher court.
Bloomfield is due to appear initially at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on January 6, 2025.
