A North Wales politician is encouraging residents to join the police force.

Sam Rowlands, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is asking people to apply to North Wales Police if they want to 'make a difference in their community.'

He said: "Applications are currently being accepted by North Wales Police to join the force, and I would encourage anyone interested to make sure they apply by the end of this month.

"I am a keen and long-time supporter of the police and the valuable work they carry out and happy to promote this recruitment campaign.

"North Wales is one of the safest places to live, work and visit in the UK, and this is a wonderful chance to help make sure North Wales stays this way.

"If you want to make a difference in your community, help reduce crime and promote confidence among local people then why not consider applying."

Police constables are described as the 'face and voice' of the force.

They work closely with the public and other organisations to impact the community positively.

Policing duties include responding to 999 calls, conducting traffic stops, preventing domestic abuse, supporting victims, and being first on the scene in disasters such as accidents or terrorist attacks.

Officers focus on engaging with communities, preventing and reducing crime, and providing service to victims.

The application window is currently open until November 30, and people can find more details on the North Wales Police website.
