Llanfair Caereinion & District Show in Powys has appointed a new chairman.
During the annual general meeting on November 19, Lloyd James was elected to the position for the next three years, taking over from David Oliver.
Hedd Evans has now taken on the role of vice-chair.
Mr Oliver, who served longer than anticipated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, extended his gratitude to the committee for their support.
He expressed pride in having chaired the show in the same year his father, Des Oliver, served as president.
In further developments, Arwel Rees is set to be the show president in 2025, with Gill Kightley elected as president-elect.
There were also significant changes in other key positions.
Glyn Roberts has stepped down as show director, while Liz Harding has left her role as show schedule secretary.
Despite stepping down, they will continue to be part of the show committee, allowing the officials to benefit from their experience.
The Llanfair Show committee members for 2024-2025 also include Eluned Downes as treasurer and 200 club, Rhianon Hywel Jones as show secretary, Lynfa Jones in charge of show schedule, publicity, and social media, Gwen Buckley and Cathryn Morris as show trade stand secretaries, Gwyn Morris as show director, Nikki Peate handling sponsorship, Alyn Edwards and Melvin Jones as chief stewards, and Graham Ives is looking after the website.
The committee is now gearing up for the next show, scheduled for August 30, 2025, in Llysun.
Anyone who is interested in becoming a committee member is invited to attend the next meeting on January 28 at 8pm in the Institute Llanfair Caereinion.
