Heavy rain is expect to replace snow in Powys this weekend after the Met Office issued a new yellow weather warning for all of Mid Wales.

Kicking in at 6am on Saturday, November 23 and expected to last 24 hours, the Met Office has said that heavy rain is expected to arrive in the region.

The heavy rain could bring flooding to the region with usual hotspots around the rivers Severn, Vyrnwy and Tern all on high alert.

A Met Office spokesman said: “Some communities may be cut off by flooded roads.

“Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures while also possible power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses.

“Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

“Fast flowing or deep floodwater is possible, causing a danger to life.

“Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible.”
