A SHORT film promoting the stunning beauty of the Elan Valley during the four different seasons, due for release next year, has been narrated by the region’s most famous resident – Charlotte Church.

Singer turned television presenter Church, who opened her wellbeing retreat The Dreaming near Rhayader, last year, has lent her unmistakable tones to a film being produced by the Elan Valley Estate.

“A surprise visitor graced (the) Elan Valley a few weeks ago. It was none other than Charlotte Church,” said the estate in a post on its Facebook page on Monday (November 18).

“We were delighted to host Charlotte at (the) Elan Valley Visitor Centre to record a voiceover for our upcoming film.

“The film will capture the beauty of the estate throughout different seasons, featuring its diverse wildlife, stunning landscapes and Celtic rainforest.

“To ensure an authentic connection to the area, we were keen to source a voice over actor with a genuine passion for the Elan Valley and had local ties.

“Charlotte Church was the ideal choice, with her retreat, 'The Dreaming,' situated on the edge of the Elan Valley Estate, Charlotte has a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the region.

“Keep an eye out for our new short film, coming to the visitor centre’s exhibition area in summer 2025.”

The singer has proved a hit with locals since moving to the area. In January of this year she voiced a film about Rhayader, which brands itself as ‘the Outdoors Capital of Wales’.

The Dreaming, which is on the site of Laura Ashley’s former home Rhydoldog House, was bought by Church for £1.5 million in 2021; opening in April 2023.

Its renovation featured on ‘Charlotte Church’s Dream Build’, which aired on the Discovery Channel.

Just last month, The Dreaming was included in a list by The Times that selected 50 of the UK’s best spas for 2024.
