Three vehicles were involved in a crash on a Powys road as icy conditions set in across mid Wales.

On Tuesday, November 19, police in Powys attended the scene of a three vehicle crash on a stretch of the A495 in Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain.

The crash took place at around 7.55am, as roads were covered in snow and ice from cold weather conditions overnight and throughout the morning.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the A495 in Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain, at approximately 7.55am on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

“The road remained open while vehicles were recovered from the scene.

“No injuries were reported.”

During the morning, police also issued a warning to drivers over treacherous conditions created by snow across the county.

They said via social media: “Road conditions are extremely poor across Powys and north Ceredigion due to ice and snow.

“Only travel if your journey is necessary. Plan extra time for your journey. Increase your distances. Slow down.”
