Friends and mountain rescue teams helped save a man injured in the Brecon Beacons with his daughter.

The Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team were called out to the waterfall are of the Bannau  Brycheiniog National Park on the Powys border late Saturday afternoon (November 16).

The man named had been walking with his daughter in the area when he developed an issue with his legs.

A spokesperson for the Rescue team said: “We were called out by Dyfed-Powys Police to locate and rescue a male walker and his daughter following a report that he had issues with his leg and was unable to walk any further in the waterfalls area of Bannau Brycheiniog - Brecon Beacons -  National Park

“At the outset, information on their exact position was limited although we knew they were in the region of Sgwd Isaf Clun-gwyn waterfall."

However, rescue efforts were already underway before the rescue team even arrived at the scene due to the man’s friends and a passing group.

“We’re very grateful to a gentleman who we only know as Grant with his group of friends who did a brilliant job of moving and carrying the injured gent out of the gorge while also looking after his daughter,” added the spokesperson.

“Our initial search team located them all on the main 4 Falls Trail.

“After a full check over by our Remote Rescue Medics, the gent was carried out from the trail on our stretcher while all others were accompanied back to the car park.

“We wish the gentleman a speedy recovery and our thanks go out to all the walkers in the area who helped with info and sightings, in particular Grant’s group who did such a great job interrupting their walk to stay and assist.”
