Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council has marked its 50th anniversary by installing a commemorative bench.
The bench, located on Broad Street, features a plaque to note the occasion.
The council hopes that the bench will be 'well received by the community'.
Alongside the council's 50th anniversary, it has also recognised Councillor Val Howard's 25 years of continuous service.
Cllr Howard, currently the chair of the service committee, has been an active member of the council since 1999, and has served as mayor twice.
The council has expressed its gratitude for her contributions and commitment.
