An iconic Powys tourist attraction is set to be closed for a week
The staff at popular historical landmark Powis Castle have announced that it will be closed next week due to local road works.
The castle was built in the mid-13th century by a Welsh prince - Gruffudd ap Gwenwynwyn. After that time it was the home of the Herbert family who married into the family of Robert Clive of India.

As a result the Castle is home of the Clive museum which is largest private collection of of South and East Asian artefacts in the UK - which attracts visitors from all over the country.
The castle with its gardens regularly attracts thousands of visitors a year however the national trust who run the castle have said they will have to close next week due to road works.
In a statement online the team from the castle said: "Due to a road closure for resurfacing work on Red Lane, Powis Castle and Garden will be closed from Monday 18 November until Friday 22 November.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. We are excited to welcome all visitors again from Saturday 23 November."
