A THREE-car crash on one of Powys’ major roads this morning led to one casualty being freed by firefighters and taken to hospital.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the crash resulted in one casualty being trapped, and required removing the entire roof of the vehicle in order to free them.
The crash occurred on the A470 near Libanus, Brecon, sometime before 8am on Friday, November 11.

A MWWFRS statement said the collision happened in the early morning, with a crew from Brecon Fire Station called to the scene at 7.03am.
“The crew responded to a road traffic collision involving three private motor vehicles,” said the fire service.
“One casualty was medically trapped and crew members utilised e-draulic equipment and small tools to gain access to and extricate the casualty, which included removing the entire roof of the vehicle. “The casualty was conveyed to hospital by road ambulance. All other occupants of vehicles were out before the arrival of the crew. The crew left the scene at 8.21am.”

Dyfed Powys Police reported at just before 8am that the A470 was shut, at Storey Arms, near the foot of Pen y Fan.
“The road is currently closed due to a collision,” said police, on Twitter/X.
“Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey.”
The force said the road was shut from Storey Arms to the A4215 turn-off, in Libanus.
The road remained closed as of10.35am.
