Llanfyllin residents will have their chance to share their views on plans to build 16 new homes in the area.
Powys County Council has announced that a consultation for a proposed housing development on land opposite Maesydre has started.
A pre-application consultation, allowing interested parties to comment on the plans before a planning application is submitted, includes a public exhibition on Thursday, November 28, in Llanfyllin Library between 2pm and 7pm.
The council is looking to build 16 highly insulated and eco-friendly homes, consisting of eight one-bedroom flats, four one-bedroom bungalows, two two-bedroom houses and two four-bedroom houses.

Cllr Matthew Dorrance, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for a Fairer Powys, said: “One of the priorities of the council is to tackle the housing emergency in the county and this can be achieved by building high quality council housing.
“Our proposed development Llanfyllin is going to be important as we look to meet this priority and build a stronger, fairer, greener future for this community.
“The pre-application consultation is important as it gives the local community an opportunity to have their say on the plans before we submit a planning application.”
At the Llanfyllin Library exhibition the proposals will be displayed and members of the design team will be available to answer any questions.

If planning permission is granted, the new homes will be owned and managed by the council and allocated to tenants through ‘Homes in Powys’, which is designed to be the one stop shop for all social housing in the county.

The pre-application consultation will close on Friday, December 6.
