A 12-year-old is leading a group of young promoters in organising a play.
Edie Allpress, from Builth Wells, is at the forefront of the Young Promoters initiative in her town.
The initiative is dedicated to arranging a play and inviting the theatre company, Half A String, to the Strand Hall in Builth on Wednesday, November 20.
The play, titled 'The Snowsmith,' is described as a 'madcap adventure' featuring puppetry, live folk music, and storytelling.
The play aims to enthral audiences from the age of four upwards with its 'stunning illustrations' by artist Greg Stobbs and rhythmic prose by Henry Madd.
The initiative is made up of 12 young people, aged between 12 and 15, from the Builth Wells Pottery HWB.
They aim to provide more opportunities for young people to engage with the expressive arts.
The Young Promoters initiative is part of a fully funded programme for schools and charitable afterschool clubs.
It educates young participants about the various roles and tasks involved in organising a community event.
The scheme is part of the Night Out initiative and aims to guide children and young people through the process of organising a community event.
Since its inception in 2005, the initiative has funded more than 300 projects in schools and youth groups throughout Wales, particularly in areas of social deprivation and rural isolation.
The Young Promoter project consists of six weekly workshops.
During these sessions, participants learn about all aspects of event management.
On the night of the show, the young promoters take charge of tasks such as running the box office, ushering, and delivering speeches.
In one instance, an eight-year-old Young Promoter from St James Primary School in Caerphilly reported that the project had made her 'less shy and more confident.'
Edie said the project "added value to the school curriculum, and helps us to make huge leaps forward in confidence, motivation, and interpersonal skills."
The Young Promoters are encouraging those interested to attend the event at The Strand Hall, Strand Street, Builth.
The box office opens at 5:15pm, and tickets can be reserved by calling 07926211555.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring cash for refreshments and a raffle.
'The Snowsmith' has a running time of approximately one hour.
