A person was left trapped in their car after it rolled in a crash near Welshpool.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue service have confirmed crews had to release someone trapped in their vehicle after a crash on the Powys border yesterday (November 3).

Fire Crews from Welshpool and Montgomery were called to a crash near Marton near Welshpool after reports of a one vehicle crash in the morning.

According to the crews at the scene after they reached the scene they found that he car had rolled and come to rest in a hedgerow – trapping one of the occupants.  

Crews at scene used specialised equipment to release the person from the vehicle and righting it.

According to the fire service the person trapped in the vehicle was later taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 8.49am on Sunday, November 3rd, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Montgomery and Welshpool Fire Stations were called to an incident near Marton in Welshpool.

“Crews responded to a road traffic collision involving one private motor vehicle that had left the roadway and entered hedgerow. 

“Crew extricated one casualty from the vehicle using e-draulic equipment, chocks and small gear. 

“The casualty was handed over to Ambulance Service personnel.”
