THERE will be live entertainment and 'fantastic deals all weekend' as owners of a Powys pub celebrate their first anniversary in charge this weekend.
The Castle opened on November 3 last year, after new owners Gwyn Davies and Lisa Griffiths took over from popular former landlady Kirsten Price after six-and-a-half-years.
The Rock Ewes, who played during the opening weekend in 2023, are back and will be playing on Saturday, November 2.
“This weekend at The Castle Rhayader marks our 1st year anniversary,” the pub posted on social media.

“Fantastic deals all weekend, with a local band on Saturday night Bryn & Marc: the Rock Ewes.
“We would like to thank all the locals and top fans for supporting us in our 1st year at The Castle.”
Gwyn, a farmer and local businessman whose family also run The Fountain Inn, in Builth Wells, said they had taken on The Castle as Rhayader is Lisa’s hometown.
