Police have charged a 33-year-old man for drink driving after a vehicle crashed into a lamppost in Welshpool.
Officers closed Brook Street following the collision at around 9pm on Tuesday, October 29.
Police arrived on the scene to find a Volkswagen Golf had crashed into a BT pole and lamppost on the street heading towards the Raven Inn.
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed on Wednesday that Benjamin Hughes, of Welshpool, has been charged with driving while over the limit for alcohol as well as failure to stop.

Police added that he is due to appear at Welshpool Magistrates Court in a few weeks’ time, scheduled to be there on November 19.
A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Police were called just after 9pm, Tuesday 29 October to a report of a road traffic collision.
“A man driving a blue Volkswagen Golf had collided with a BT pole and a lamp post on Brook Street, Welshpool.
“A 33-year-old man was arrested and later charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above the limit, driver of a vehicle fail to stop after a road accident and cause a vehicle to be left in a dangerous position.
“He has been bailed to appear at Welshpool Magistrates court on 19 November, 2024.”
