Welshpool Rotary Club welcomed an Olympic silver medallist to its meeting this week.
Ollie Wynne-Griffith, who secured his medal in the men's coxless pair event at the Paris Olympics in August, shared his experiences with the club.
The Welsh rower, and grandson of Rotary member Michael Wynne-Griffith, was narrowly beaten to the gold by Croatia's Martin and Valent Sinkovic in a gripping finale, losing by just 0.45 seconds.
The 2024 Olympic triumph adds to Mr Wynne-Griffith’s collection, which also includes a bronze from the Tokyo 2020 games.

His Olymcic journey is a family tradition, tracing back to his great-grandfather’s participation in the 1932 Olympics.
During the meeting, Mr Wynne-Griffith proudly displayed both his Olympic medals, allowing attendees to get a closer look.
Initially aspiring to represent Wales in rugby, Mr Wynne-Griffith shifted his focus to rowing, honing his skills at Yale and Cambridge universities.
He participated in the 2022 Boat Race and has competed in the pair with childhood friend Tom George throughout the Paris Olympiad.
Welshpool Rotary meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 12.30pm at the Royal Oak at the Cross in Welshpool.
