On the 11th September a group of ladies from the Dolfor/ Newtown area went on a visit to the beautiful Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall.
We arrived at the carpark in three cars, we are all pensioners, the weather was very wet and we even witnessed hail stones.
After a short time one lady from each car went to purchase a £5 ticket valid for 8 hours. Two tickets were purchased from the machine near the closed cafe, the third was purchased from the machine near the toilet block.

Then on the 18th September in the post the two tickets purchased near the cafe received a £100 car park fine which if paid within 14 days would be reduced to £60. How can this company get away with giving out fines after tickets have been purchased?
Unfortunately only one of the tickets remained. Another helpful tip – try to keep your car parking tickets.
Both parking charges have been contested. Then they change the goalpost to say, a full vehicle registration number wasn’t entered. As a gesture of goodwill the one with the ticket was reduced to £20. Yet the other remains at £60. We have both reluctantly paid these fines, even though we both intended to contest them. We do not want or need a criminal record.
