Police have closed the road between Newbridge and Doldowlod with traffic at a standstill near the junction of the A4081.

Dyfed-Powys Police have said that “the road is currently closed due to a collision” and have advised drivers to “please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey”.

It is one of three closures currently in place on the A470 throughout the county, with the road closed near Llanidloes following a crash, and near Glantwymyn while investigations are carried out into Monday's rail tragedy.
