A series of exciting events are set to take place at Elan Valley this half term.

Elan Valley is preparing for October half term with a selection of activities aimed at captivating visitors of all ages.

From Halloween-themed escapades to a food, drink, and craft fair, Elan Valley promises a memorable experience.

The Cambrian Mountains Food, Drink, and Craft Fair kicks off the celebrations on Saturday, October 26, from 10am to 4pm.

After a successful launch in 2021, this year's fair is back with even more flavour and creativity.

The Menter Y Mynydd project, funded by the Shared Prosperity Fund and facilitated by Powys County Council, backs the fair.

Renowned producers, including Radnor Preserves, MAC Chocolates, and Da Mhile Distillery, will be showcasing their products.

Fairgoers can also look forward to cooking demonstrations by TV chef Nerys Howell, along with live performances by local talents Toby Hay and Gareth Bonello.

The Elan Valley shop is set to be well-stocked with Cambrian Mountains products.

For adventure seekers, the Autumn Adventure Weekend on Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27, promises a weekend filled with adrenaline-fueled activities and hands-on crafts for all ages.

Presented by the Powys County Council Events Team, the weekend is brimming with exciting challenges and creative opportunities.

History enthusiasts can look forward to the Dam Open Day on Sunday, October 27, from 12pm to 2pm.

For £5 per adult and £1 per child under 18, visitors can explore Pen y Garreg Dam and engage with one of Elan Valley's knowledgeable rangers.

Half the proceeds from this event will go to WaterAid.

For a Halloween-themed experience, guests can visit the Spooky Dam Open Days on Tuesday, October 29, and Wednesday, October 30, from 1pm to 3:30pm.

Entry is priced at £5 per adult and £1.50 per child, granting access to Pen y Garreg Dam, followed by a Halloween reward and a stroll through the woods.

Pumpkin Carving on Wednesday, October 30, from 10am to 12pm, offers a delightful way to celebrate the season for only £5 per child.

Elan Valley, celebrated for its picturesque landscapes and rich history, is a paradise for outdoor lovers, boasting miles of walking and cycling paths, wildlife watching spots, and group guided tours of the historic dams and reservoirs.
