Police are telling people to avoid the A470 between Carno and Commins Coch amid an 'emergency incident' that is affecting road and rail travel this evening (Monday).
The A470 between the two villages is closed while emergency services are dealing with a crash involving two trains near Llanbrynmair.

People living in the area are reporting a huge emergency service presence including helicopters since 7.30pm.
Shortly before 11.30pm, Traffic Wales said local diversions are in place during the emergency road closure which is expected to be shut "for some time".

The road is currently closed due to an incident.

Transport for Wales said railway lines between Machynlleth and Caersws are blocked "due to an operational incident".
The rail operator confirmed that emergency services and Network Rail are on site.
Railway services will experience "severe disruption" with train travel between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth cancelled until further notice.
A rail replacement service is in operation ho."Due to road closures, we are unable to call at Caersws station until further notice.
"We apologise for the disruption to your journey."
Posting on social media shortly after 8pm, Dyfed-Powys Police said motorists should find alternative routes.
