A youth organisation has been shortlisted for a national award.

The Game Change Project CIC, based outside Newtown at Llwydcoed, has reached the final shortlist for the Organisation of the Year award at the Welsh Charity Awards 2024.

The awards, organised by WCVA, recognise the contributions made by charities, community groups, not-for-profits, and volunteers in Wales.

The Game Change Project has been nominated as an 'outstanding organisation' having achieved a great deal in the past year and earning admiration from others in the sector.

Andrew Evans, the founding director, said: "This is an amazing testimony to the hard work and dedication of our team of directors, volunteers, and staff and highlights the positive impact this has on our young beneficiaries, changing lives for the better."

The Organisation of the Year award is sponsored by The Open University in Wales and features various organisations working in Wales’ voluntary sector.

The independent judging panel faced the challenge of shortlisting more than 200 nominations from across the country down to 27 finalists across eight categories.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on November 25 in Cardiff.
