A young man from Newtown has been convicted of carrying a large knife on a residential area in his hometown.
Curtis Jefferies, 24, was found guilty following a trial at Welshpool Magistrates' Court on Monday, October 14.

He had denied the charge of possessing on July 9 a bladed or pointed article in a public place in Newtown.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report with all options open including committal to the crown court.
Jefferies, of Lon Glanyrafon, Newtown, was given unconditional bail to return to court for sentencing on Tuesday, November 5.
